Your Goods Do Not Start Costing Storage the Moment They Land

At Freight2Me we offer every consolidation batch a free storage window at our Guangzhou hub, so your suppliers’ goods can arrive, get received and be merged without penalty. Storage only becomes a line item when goods stay past that window, or when you ask us to hold. This guide lays out our window, our rates, and the timeline we follow so you can plan around it.

Our Guangzhou Hub Gives You Room to Merge

Our warehouse sits inside the Guangzhou consolidation hub, the first Chinese city designated a “Quad-Type” national logistics hub, anchored by Baiyun International Airport (2.44 million tonnes of cargo a year, 250-plus global destinations) and the Port of Nansha (28 million TEUs a year). That density means your suppliers’ parcels converge on one place fast, and our team can receive, inspect and merge them without you paying to store them separately.

The Free Storage Window We Offer

We allow a set number of free days per consolidation batch, often 30, sometimes 45 or 60 depending on your plan. That window covers the normal receiving-and-merging cycle: supplier A’s box lands Monday, supplier B’s on Wednesday, supplier C’s the following Monday, and we merge them once all are in. As long as the merged shipment books out within the window, storage is zero.

The window runs on the batch, not per parcel, which is part of why merging several suppliers with us costs less than storing and shipping them independently.

When Our Clock Actually Starts

We track the batch, not the first box. Two phases matter:

If you instruct us to wait, for a fourth supplier, for a price quote, or for a holiday, the clock keeps running and eventually leaves the free window.

Our Storage Rate Tiers

Once the free window closes, we bill storage on a simple schedule: Once the free window closes, we bill storage on a simple schedule:

Storage DurationDaily Rate (per Package)Billing TierDescription
Days 1 – 30FREEFree Grace PeriodComplimentary storage window
Days 31 – 60$0.10 / Pkg / dayModest TierStandard small package retention fee
Days 61+$0.50 / Pkg / daySteep TierPenalty rate to prevent long-stay parcels

Rates vary by volume, but the shape is consistent: free first, then a modest daily charge, then a steeper one if goods are effectively abandoned. Our fee breakdown guide shows where storage sits relative to the other line items.

How Consolidation Reduces Your Storage Exposure

The simplest way to avoid storage fees is to ship once, not many times. When you consolidate with us, all suppliers’ goods funnel into a single batch with one free window. Our cost-saving guide counts this among the quiet ways consolidation saves money. On that UK snack shipment we handled, three suppliers’ parcels arrived across a week, we merged them within the free window, and the buyer paid zero storage.

What Triggers a Storage Charge With Us

None of these are our fault, and most are avoidable with a little planning. Our Guangzhou warehouse hub page explains how receiving works day to day.

A Practical Timeline We Recommend

  1. Confirm all supplier addresses and expected dispatch dates before you start.
  2. Share the full supplier list with us so we expect every parcel.
  3. Once the last parcel is received, approve repacking within a day or two.
  4. Book the international leg as soon as the merged carton is weighed.
  5. If a supplier is genuinely late, decide early whether to ship without them or extend the window knowingly.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the free storage window per parcel or per shipment?

Per consolidation batch. That is one reason merging suppliers into one shipment with us beats storing and shipping them separately.

What if one supplier is much later than the others?

You choose: ship the batch without them, and send the late parcel later, possibly direct; or hold the whole batch and accept storage from the day the window closes. We will flag the trade-off to you before it costs anything.

Are there fees for us simply receiving your goods?

Receiving and basic inspection are part of our handling fee, not storage. Storage only begins past the free window. See our fee breakdown.
