Consolidation is usually described as “many parcels in, one carton out, one address.” That is the common case. But the same hub can also send your consolidated stock to more than one address, which solves a few real situations that a single shipment cannot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This guide explains when splitting makes sense and how it works, with the caveats you should know before you book.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One warehouse, many addresses<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Your suppliers all ship to one Guangzhou address. At the merge step, instead of sealing everything into a single carton for one door, you tell the warehouse the final destinations. The pooled stock is then prepared into the parcels each address needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is still consolidation. You are still merging many inbound parcels into one controlled batch. The difference is the outbound side: one batch, several deliveries, instead of one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When splitting makes sense<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

  1. Gifts to family abroad.<\/strong> You buy from several Chinese sellers, consolidate in Guangzhou, then send the merged goods to two or three relatives in different countries, each getting their share.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Your own stores in different markets.<\/strong> A small brand with a US and a UK stockist can buy from one supplier pool in China and distribute to each store without running two separate China orders.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Splitting a bulk buy.<\/strong> You bought a job lot, consolidated it to save freight, then forward parts to different partners or warehouses.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. One urgent, one patient.<\/strong> Send the time-critical portion by air to one address and the bulk by sea to another.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    The saving still comes from consolidating the inbound side. Splitting happens after the merge, so you keep the freight benefit of one receiving and one combined handling, and only the final leg is separated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Tell the warehouse the addresses and the split before sealing. Changing it after dispatch is not possible, just like a normal shipment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    A note on customs per address<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Splitting is convenient, but it is not a way around customs. Each final address is its own delivery, and each may be assessed on its own value and contents. If one address is in the EU and another in the US, they follow different rules (IOSS for low-value EU B2C, US de minimis, and so on).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
